Senior Visiting Fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 3,800 per month, Junior Visiting Fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 1,800 per month and are provided with an office, access to e-mail and internet, research and administrative facilities as well as other services free of charge.

Paul Celan Fellowships 2015/2016 for translators

Deadline for application: February 28, 2015 

The program supports translations of canonical texts, contemporary key works in the humanities, social sciences and cultural studies from Eastern to Western European languages or vice versa, or between two Eastern European languages. Special emphasis is put on translations of relevant works written by East European authors and/or female scholars. No applications for works of fiction and poetry are being accepted.

Fellows will spend 3 – 6 months between July 2015 and June 2016 at the IWM in Vienna and receive a monthly stipend of EUR 2,050 to cover all expenses related to the stay in Vienna. The IWM provides fellows with an office incl. access to internet, in-house research and administrative facilities as well as other services free of charge.

 Junior Visiting Fellowship 2015/2016 for Scholars from Ukraine

Deadline for application: January 31, 2015 

This program for one younger Ukrainian scholar supports research on the legacies of Europe in the history of Ukraine. Topics include modern intellectual, cultural, social and political history.

The Fellow will spend 10 months from September 2015 through June 2016 at the IWM in Vienna and receive a stipend to cover all expenses related to the stay in Vienna. The IWM provides fellows with an office incl. access to internet, in-house research and administrative facilities as well as other services free of charge.
